Elements of modern website designs

Each and every year, we have seen new website design elements emerge day in day out. Although it may not be necessary to include all of the new elements into your web design, the more of them you can use in your next web redesign or design, the better your revamped website will be.
This is a guide explaining 7 new and important elements of modern website design that you can include in your website design. It's not a must that you use all for them, but this list i have prepared will get you started.

Element 1. - Flat Design

A flat web design is well known for its very simplistic appearance. Instead of using modern design techniques and three dimensional elements, flat designs just use simple illustrations that have typically bright colors.

Element 2. - Hover Effects
This effects help you to identify where you are on a web page. By placing the cursor over a specific part of a website that has a hover effect,the part highlights or changes colors letting you know where you are looking at.

Element 3. - Unique Typography
Typography is a new web design in the web design industry today. A majority of  companies have a particular style, family and size of a font, or typography, that they use and that helps their customers to immediately identify them by just the font versus their rivals or competitors. In the recent years, the number of fonts that a designer can select to use on their website has grown. Web designers now have a broader range of fonts to select from when designing their websites.

Element 4- Scroll to the Page Sections
There are modern websites that have a feature that where you click on a link, you are taken  to a different part of the same page.

Element 5- Giant Product Images
Most B2B websites have started to display large images of their products so as to highlight the different features or parts of their product. This web design element is another important tactic that we are seeing more and more in modern websites.

Element 6- In Depth Product Videos
Apart from the large images used by the companies to display their products, most companies are also beginning to upload in depth product videos on their sites to talk about the new features and benefits of their products.

Element 7- Large and Responsive Images
New websites are also using large photo backgrounds from their homepages. However, this images used on the background must be made responsive.

The large responsive images adapt automatically to any screen size whether you are viewing the image using your mobile device, tablet or from your desktop. Having the image responsive means that you will be able to view the image very clearly without having to scroll up and down and side to side.

Uber is a good example of a website that uses a large responsive background photo on their website as well as the design elements of making the image responsive.
